A native daughter of a native son, I received my B.A. in Advertising Art from the California College of Arts and Crafts. I have worked in the printing industry for the past 30+ years.
I like painting on site whenever I can. My favorite time to paint is on vacation when I can go back to the same site several days in a row and complete the painting there. There is nothing like experiencing nature while you are painting, but I also take photographs of the subject so I can finish at home if weather, time constraints or frustration intervene. Also, some places don't lend themselves to on-site work, so I may do an entire painting from photographs, as in "The Castle, Ben Lomond", or pet portraits (as pets seldom will sit long enough for me to render their likeness).
